Insurgence Half life 2 mod

Played this a couple of months back - it's ok.

More like CS:S than HL2 i think, but it's worth checking out if you're looking for a new game :)
 
Right now it's struggling for players, but that's a shame as there's a core of a real good game in there. Especially if you're like me and find games like TF2 annoying because the weapons aren't lethal enough. In Insurgency most guns can kill in one shot to the chest.

However, if you've not tried this mod yet, can I recommend waiting for the next release (it'll be beta 2.1) which *should* be stable, and will bring back some of the large number of players who played the original (buggy) versions.

I'm guessing that release will be in the next 2 weeks or so, keep an eye out at the official web site for news.

I tried this a while back. Managed to start a MP map off just to see what it was like. But then I couldn't get it to load up after that. Looks like I'll reinstall HL2 and give it another blast.
 
I wonder if this is any better than the launch candidate. When it first came out I was completely underwhellmed by it.

a good group of us used to play it quite a bit, but moved over to cod4. will definately download the latest update when im home on wednesday and hopefully get a few of the old group back on :)
 
I played 2.1 and its different but still not sure. Recommend a decent server anyone?

Apparently version 3 is on the way and will include orange box engine improvements
 
I must be playing the wrong servers because I kept being killed by a camper with a handgun.

I think the maps are too small for a sim-shooter tbh...but I will keep an eye on it.
 
Nah I had the same, just one guy sitting outside of the spawn area shooting people in the back.
I think it would benefit from use of voip, some teamwork, etc If you find a decent server copy it up here
 
a boring mod imo, too many campers and the ticket maps are annoying (mainly cause when your on the team, and your out of reinformcements, theres always the lone survivor who camps). Its decent if you don't have cod though.
 
I recently downloaded this - its great fun really, hard to tell the teams apart but once you got it its great fun. Although I'm really trying to find cod4 at a decent price cos i really want to play that, but everywhere is either out of stock or highly priced because they are now just selling cod5
 
Downloading just now been trying to find an FPS for a while which will make me want to play a lot more, also am working on a site running public dedicated servers so may add one if I like it :)
 
This was a mod that i had waited for and played it a couple of times..............the for some strande reason i stopped playing!
Im may revisit the mod.
