may have been done but

http://www.insmod.net/

looking great and out anyday now :)

Insurgency (INS) is a total conversion mod for Valve Software's' Half-Life 2, powered by the Source Engine. INS immerses the player in an intense online combat experience. Set on the modern battlefields, Insurgency simulates infantry combat that encourages the use of teamwork and tactics to close with and destroy the enemy.

READ THE FORUM

LINK

Oh, and you guys should really start getting excited now, as you guys are really in for a treat.

We're also gonna be doing a promotional deal with Fileplanet so that for the first 3 hours we will post only Fileplanet mirrors on our official site. However, we negotiated with them so that we can post other mirrors on our forums just for you guys, our community smile.gif

So, as community members you guys can expect access to exclusive mirrors, torrents, etc, while the masses are using Fileplanet.

By the way... we were gonna have 5 maps originally, now its looking like 7 smile.gif And they're all really awesome maps.

Feature-wise I think everything will be in. There will be some bugs, but none of them hurt your ability to have fun, and all of them will be sorted in patches.

We ended up getting quite a few features in that we didn't expect to make it smile.gif

ins_almaden
Push map (Attack/Defend), 4 Linear objectives, moving spawns

ins_ambush
Push map (Attack/Defend), 4 Linear objectives, moving spawns

ins_baghdad
Battle map (Frontline), 5 Linear objectives, moving spawns

ins_haditha
Firefight map, 3 Non-Linear objectives, no moving spawns

ins_karkar
Push map (Attack/Defend), 3 Linear objectives, moving spawns

ins_ramadi
Firefight map, 3 Non-Linear objectives, no moving spawns

ins_strike

According to Bluestrike who is one of the devs it was expected to come in at over 1.5gb. I was speaking to him this afteroon about its status.

well I can only go by the offical forums, I will have to TAKE you word for that won't I ?

Ok so I am purposely going to report its over 1.5gb when quite clearly its not . I really have nothing to gain by saying its something when its not

As I say I spoke with Bluestrike who is on the dev team and I am telling you what he told me. One of the reases for the delay in launch is that the initial client file was over 2gb. So if they stripped it down to 700mb then all the better for everyone

like i said 700mb :)

anyone else connection keep dropping with this.

also runs like a pig? god know why its only source engine

how do you use cell commands?

This will be good in anotehr few releases, to many bugs at mo to be truly good but they will get there

some of the things i have seen

grenades not blowing up
catching on doorways
can't change classes
music sticks
server dropping

poorly optamised source engine
