Insuring a celica as new driver?

How long did you have your provisional before you passed? Norwich Union *used* to let you include this time for the "How long have you held your license for" bit. So if you'd had your provisional since you were 20 you could in theory say you'd had your licence since for 6 years. No idea if they still let you do this, but worth a call to ask them.

Also, if you get a quote with Admiral/Elephant/Bell then put your father down as a named driver, and this will reduce the quote by quite a bit.

It is a bit wierd with regards to having a named (experienced) driver on the policy, adn it reducing the premium. The only explanation i can think of is that the car is less likely to be involved in an accident as the driving will be split by a less experienced driver and one that is experienced.

Also it makes a difference whether the named driver is male or female, as generally speaking male premiums are about 10% more than female, so having my mum on the policy for a quote on a 200sx comes in at £850, wherease having my dad on there it is about £100 more.
