Been looking quite closely into buying one of these as a next car,

I would ask over at the DC2 forums, but they are a bit biased :p
IIRC we have one or two owners on here? How are you finding the car for everyday use
and in general?

Performance isn't to be sniffed at, 187Bhp and 60 in ~6.5 according to parkers.
Handling is regarded as being top notch.

I'm not quite sure what colour to go for, black looks great but suffers from swirl marks
(these could be removed with time and money), white stands out the most to non car buffs
and red looks fab when clean.

My budget would be ~£7-8K, depending on whether I can sell my current
car for ~1K. I've had a few insurance quotes, KwikFit being the best at £1300 FC @ 20yrs old and 2yrs NCB.
What are peoples thoughts on this car, what other options are there for
the budget that are reliable, decent on fuel and handle well? Would a
Clio Cup be held in the same regard?

Neil.

£1300 is the max I would be willing to spend on insurance
AFAIK imports cost more to insure and the UK model is fast
enough for me as I'll be coming from a car that takes ~18s
to 60 :p

*edit* Anyway, I'm looking forward to lots of

Cheers guys for the comments.

Randell yours looked stunning, black is highly tempting. I guess I'll
have to go see one in person. I've only seen white and red up close.

As for the Prelude, not really my cup of tea looks wise.

To be honest, I can put up with the ride if its crashy, my mums 205 GTi can be crashy over bumps. As for the build quality, I've currently got a French car that rattles and squeaks when standing still, so no worries there :p
