I just got quite a nice quote on one of these and I'm seriously considering getting one for my next car.

Does anybody here have one? Or perhaps someone has experience driving one.

I know they arn't built for streight speed so they arn't real rapid or anything but they have great handling from what I gather. I'm not too fussed about speed anyway, as long as its fast enough. Its not like I travel faster than 40mph on most roads.

I like the look of them and there fairly rare.

What are they like?

Ta.

Widely regarded as the best front wheel drive car out there, its plenty quick enough, does 0-60 in 6.2 ish and pushes out 180 odd brake fromm a tried and tested 1.8 engine.

Its basically a stripped out racer, really is a special special car, you are looking at 6k for a decent DC2 model, and white is the best colour.

If you are after a raw sports car, 6k will not buy you anything better in stock guise.

Merlins your man for all things ITR btw.

The Integra Type-R is an awesome, stripped out race car for the road. It is built to have amazingly handling and brilliant performance from its VTEC engine, and is designed to be driven hard. As a result, you compromise in terms of comfort, equipment, and running costs - but the right driver won't mind.

You don't drive more than 40mph on most roads, thus, you are not IMHO the right driver. You won't get the best out of a Teg, you'll simply notice the compromises.

Buy something more suited to your driving style, perhaps a Honda Civic Automatic.

Lol Fox, it is no where near stripped out. A car is stripped out when it has 1 or 2 seats, no carpets/sound proofing and with a few pods for dials. :p

Nice cars, but I got frustrated with the style after a short time.

Roads these days just dont allow you to thrash up to 8k rpm whenever you want. It was a nice enough car, easy to fix if it ever went wrong and handles well on standard wheels. Ride is pretty poor though imo.

I would like another one, but only as a track car.

I went back to a turbo after a few months as the power is easily available. Dont get me wrong, the DC2 has great low down torque too, but it just seemed like I never got to drive it how its was meant.

Hence the twin turbo makes me happy now, feels fast at any revs.

TEST BEFORE BUYING :p

It's stripped out for somebody who rarely exceeds 40mph.

When I say I drive about 40mph most of the time I mean I dont drive like a looney all the time but I have my moments :D

Well I would say the speed someone drives does not change the meaning of stripped out.

Would you call an A8 without A/C stripped down if the person drives round at 5mph?

The integra had a "delete clock" option...

thats stripped out..

Lets face it, it is stripped out compared to 99% of other roads cars and other integras.. lighter, stiffer, less soundproofing, whatever, well all know what he means.

What are you blabbering on about? You can't get an A8 class car without AC so thats a pointless analogy.

A car with minimal soundproofing, little comforts other than perhaps AC and a radio and rock hard suspension is stripped out for somebody who pootles around at 40mph.

I went out for another quick blast earlier this afternoon, it's magic :D

I'll e postin up a little review in a few days once i've managed to have a proper drive in it.

Ever heard of removing AC from a car? Also it isn't pointless, as you seem to make a connection between speed and how much kit you need for it to be classed as stripped out. So all I did was extend what you said down to 5mph, an A8 is a well spec'ed car. But if you have to go fast to warrent having next to nothing in the car than really it would go the otherway, if you go slow then you don't need to remove much to class it as 'stripped out.' Hense why I said AC.

It has a dashboard, glovebox etc, lots can still be removed. Not stripped down in my opinion.

Like an Audi A8? No, can't say I have.

Yes, becuase the sort of speed you drive at tells us what sort of driver you might be, and different drivers have different perceptions of what stripped out is. To somebody like eidolon, who drives his Lotus Elise at considerable velocity around sharp corners whilst shouting 'Yahoo!' with a huge grin on his face, it isn't stripped out unless it has carpets.

To somebody like me, who likes to cruise up the Motorway at 75, if it doesn't have AC, Cruise, etc etc, it's stripped out.

Different driving styles, different priorities. Surely it isnt that hard to grasp?

I have no idea what you are talking about and how it relates to my point, sorry.

While I agree with Fox here...

No different taking it off an A8 than other cars.

I still feel that you cannot call a car that still have things like carpets etc as stripped out. I would say the meaning of the word is that you have taken out everything that you can get away with and the car can still do basic functions.

It does relate, but I have probably just written it in a poor way.
