Hi all

My NAD D 3020 has just died. I'm using it as a PC desktop amp for music and games and have really enjoyed it, apart from it's flaky screen / display.

Should I just get the V2 for £400, or have things moved on?

Powering (probably under powering) two Mordaunt Short Aviano 6 floor standers.

There's a Denon alternative, someone had one for sale in the MM. I think it was the Denon pma50.
I have the pma30 and it's great.
I tossed up between the two and went Denon as I think it looked better.

If you have the space get a avr. And need this

Coaxial, optical and hdmi inputs
Video switching
Bass management
Room correction
Time alignment
DSP for movies pro logic DTS DD etc
Remote control
Master volume
Channel level

I'm sure if OP wanted a massive AV amplifier, they would have just got one :P

Not a huge number of small amps about. I did have a listen to a Quad Vena 2 which was pretty good....but pricey. Ended up getting a used Naim Nait....obviously not that small, but smaller than an AV amp!

He literally posts stupid overspecced stuff on almost every thread.

Thanks for the ideas all. The great thing about the NAD is that it can stand upright, so can tuck away under my desk on the PC tower. Doesn't look like there's anything else out there that can do this, so I'll choose between the 3020 V2 and the 3045.

And no an AVR is not on the cards; this is a PC desktop stereo amp.

I wouldn't buy another 3045 if it couldn't be repaired. That's a lot of money for a disposable product.

It took two returns to get a functioning one as well, they must be poorly made.

Cyrus have an integrated amp in that price range and I think they will repair faulty products.

Well after a lot of research, I have ordered a...

I stumbled upon this YouTube channel called cheapaudioman and he was raving about all these cheap Asian integrated class D amps, so I'm trying one out.

The spec seems great, USB input, headphones, decent DAC, and it looks quite good.

States 80W X 2 at 4 ohms and cost £155 (used).

I have one. It's been a great purchase for me.

Discussed here a bit.

Is the sub out full range or filtered?
Is the speaker outputs full range, or filtered? (bass management/high pass)

If you have standmounts it's a good idea to use bass management. Frees up power on that digital amp also.
It'll be running floor standers, Mordaunt Short Aviano 6, 6 ohm nominal 88db sensitivity.

Not sure how to do bass management aside from a separate DAC, but I'm trying to keep the budget low.

I think I'll try it first and see if any issues.

I've got an aiyima a08 pro which measures really well and sounds great to my ears, but looking to add a passive sub (due to the vagaries of customs I actually ended up with a refund on the a08 and ordered an a07 but both eventually arrived - I can't fault aiyima support though)

I actually do need bass management but having a hard time finding something cost effective outside of car audio parts - has anyone got any suggestions for a separate that does high/low pass filter?

I can't find one for sale and your link says discontinued

Yup you'll have to look for a second hand one. Not much choice for analogue passive high pass line level.

That's why I bought one soon as I saw one for sale.

Another option would be to find a SVS subwoofer with high pass, SVS SB Ultra 13 or PB Ultra 13 with the plate amp with the silver dial, that has low level jigh pass, with three high pass settings.

That's the thing, in car audio there are loads of options, I would just need to rig up a 12v power supply. I already have an amp to drive a sub hence why I want low pass filter, buying a really expensive sub to get one along with another amp I don't need doesn't really serve my situation.

I'm also not in the UK and that product was never available in this country so the chances of me finding one even if it wasn't stupidly overpriced for my requirements is less than 0.
