Planning the new kitchen and thinking it might look better to go with an integrated washing machine. Are there any down sides? Looks like the biggest you can get is 8kg which is bigger than the 6kg we currently have so should be fine capacity wise.

Thanks, Mark

I wouldn't get too hung up over capacity, most are very adventurous specifications. When I replaced my 8kg Bosch with a 9kg Bosch, I didn't really notice much increase - my own suspicions are that they got the extra 1kg by using smaller drum paddles.

I’m not too fussed on the size to be honest, as I say we’ve got a 6kg so as long as it’s not less it’s not a problem.

The post was more to ask if there were any issues with them in general? I’m sure I read somewhere that people said to avoid them in general but I may be mistaken.

Only real issue I see
Say you get a minor leak from the
Hose in future
Getting to its a pita
Just had integrated dishwasher fitted
And that's almost as bad if need
To get to the back of it

If you do go for one try to get one where the drain filter isn't blocked by the skirting. On my old one it was easy enough to access but on the new one it's lower down so I'd have to take the front skirt off the kitchen units to get to it which is annoying when it occasionally needs cleaning.

Pros: look way better
Cons: more expensive, harder to fit, more time consuming to service the filter.

For me pros far out weigh the cons, washing machines are ugly and should be hidden away if they can be. It’s a no brainier in a full refit given how much you’ll be spending for the small additional cost.

If you are looking for a drier, there are very few options to integrate a condenser model, I think there is only one or two.

Thanks for all of the replies, going to go with an intergrated one.

We have a drier in the garage which is only used now and again so can just keep it in there.

We are on our second intergrated washing machine -the first one sprang a leak after 9 yrs but we didn't know because you cant see under - Make sure you tile where machine has to go - we would have noticed the leak then.
New one is a Zanussi 7kg - I now realise the kitchen fitters never left vent hole for the heat to escape - On a 90degree wash it gets very hot under the cabinet so we prop the door open - other than that it's working fine.
They do look better built in.
