Intel price cuts on 10th gen line up
Hmm, when are the new Intel chips due? If the prices are not bad I might jump on the 10900K or... If it's not too far away I'll wait for the new Intel chips. I badly need an upgrade from the 3770K.

Price is right on the 10900K or 10850, a few deals there if you can find them in stock.Hmm, when are the new Intel chips due? If the prices are not bad I might jump on the 10900K or... If it's not too far away I'll wait for the new Intel chips. I badly need an upgrade from the 3770K.
Anyone else thinking about just getting a 10600k and riding out until ddr5? I was hoping for a bit more from amd given all the hype.

Good choice keep the cost down or wait it out for DDR5.
you guys are gonna stay disappointed
the fact is that above 1080p we are gpu limited - it doesn't matter if the zen 3 cpu had 100% more ipc your framerate at 4k or 1440p would not change.
the CPU's job is to get out of the way of the gpu, once it's done that 1 any extra performance it can deliver goes down the toilet.
Same goes for DDR5, faster RAM helps performance only when you are cpu bottlenecked- which you never are at 1440p/4k.
We live in the age of the graphics card, it's the most important component in your gaming PC and that's where the focus of your spending should be when on A budget
I got my 10900k 3 weeks ago and i do wonder if i made the right decision, my PC is purely for gaming. I know it is still a great CPU and i am wondering whether my all core OC @ 5.1 will be on par or better than the 5900x
I'm debating on keeping this 10700K or getting a 10850K until couple years into DDR5 (aka when prices come down), I've been with Ryzen since first gen 1700 and while Zen3 is great its not as spectacular in gaming as some are making it out IMO
I was looking at the uplift between my 1800X and Zen3, seems a pretty spectacular uplift in gaming performance even with my graphics card.
I've got a 5900X on order and have had a 1700 and a 3700X, and while if you compare the uplift to other Ryzen CPU's it's great, when you compare it to intel it's just feels like oh you've finally caught up, after 3 generations, but to add some positivity to what I'm saying I will say the difference in death stranding is interesting, makes me wonder that in say 2 years the Zen3 and especially 5900X will be leading in everything
I’m not sure TBH quite a few games have AMD massively ahead and the 5000 series clearly has a lot more processing power than anything we have seen. I think the true performance will come when a Ryzen 3 is paired with an RDNA 2 card and games have been patched.
Indeed, that might not happen for a year, or until games change.
It would seem newer games were lapping up the ryzen, and console ports will no doubt feel the same way in the next couple of years.
AMD has brought 4 fantastic processors, the 5800 only hampered by its current pricing.
Great to see such a launch.
