Intel 11400 - a gem for gamers?

That extra £30 on a B560 would enable you to overclock the CPU better, more connectivity, etc. Z590 doesn't really offer you much over the B560 unless you really want to run the top end CPUs,use a lot of AVX2,need more than one graphics card, etc.

But you can't overclock the CPU on B560? Increasing thermal limits / power delivery in the bios still isn't overclocking.

However I wouldn't pick a barebones uncooled VRMs for a 6c/12t anyway. Those are for pentiums.

It's a modern form of overclocking and similar to AMDs PBO with the result being higher all core clocks than you would otherwise get.

Well yes but its still capped to the maximum stock clock so it isn't 'overclocking', rather letting the CPU run higher within its stock settings.

Though I still agree that doing that would want cooling on the VRMs as its going to push past the default 65w tdp.

What? How can 11400f beat 10900k by %37?

Can someon explain what is the supposed architectural improvements that led to this performance deficit?

As far as I know, no IPC differences between them?

11400f at 4.2 ghz allcore clock
10900k at 4.8-4.9 ghz allcore clock

and yet 11400f turns everything around and decimates 10900k by %35-40?

This smells 11th gen shilling but what do I know.

This seems more appopriate.

The review wasn't that bad - they did show scenarios where Zen3 was significantly faster(CS:GO). But even in other reviews Zen3 wasn't always significantly faster than CML/RKL in all games(CB2077).

We all know ryzen is faster but I think the take on the video was to show you can get virtually the same performance for half the price when going Intel and being able to save some cash on other components is more important than ever with the crazy GPU market at the minute.

I5-11400F - £149

Ryzen 5 1600 AF - £119

13-1010F - £79.99

Asrock Mini ITX B560 £99.99.

I could get the I3 and Asrock board now if I wanted, but I want to wait for next gen cores / die shrink first.

Maybe if that motherboard or even a H510 goes to £80 too. H510 is out of stock and only £10 less.

Can use my Radeon 550 with it for now, but would need another low end GPU for Display Port output for the current Pentium then as it will still be needed to hook up to a TV, and not worth selling when it was only £40.

Cant find any iGPU thing below the 11500 still that can output to Display Port from the Motherboard, and don't really need 6c12t for it.

I3 and GTX 1050 would do, except I can't get a GTX 1050 for any reasonable price. Or if only the new Pentiums had UHD 750!

Wait for next range and hope for UHD 750 or better being added to Pentiums and I3s is the best idea.

Comet Lake I3 and B460 are only £5 less each and not in stock, plus no memory overclocking.
