I have now downloaded the Product Guide from Intel's website, which contains the following BIOS information:
• Intel® BIOS resident in an Serial Peripherial Interface (SPI) Flash device
• Support for Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI), Plug and Play, and System Management BIOS (SMBIOS)
• BIOS support for Hyper Boot
• Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) to support hard disk drives larger than 2 TB
The last point in particular looks quite encouraging, and I would be interested to hear if anyone has any views as to how this particular board compares with something like the Asus P8P67-M PRO, which was my original choice.
My personal thoughts are as this as Intel also manufacture the CPU's they should be best placed to offer a 100% compatible board.
