Question to the OCUK staff, i hear that Ian parry bins all your cpus, so that the best cpu's go into the 8Pack systems, and then the rest that don't quite cut it end up as retail/oem stock at OCUK?, if this is true does that mean i'm more likely to end up with a better Vid cpu as apposed to buying a cpu (5960X) from a different retailer that hasn't binned there cpu range ?

Cheeky question but i had to ask ! :D

Ok let me put it another way, when ian bin's all the cpu's for the 8Pack systems, and he finds all the best 4.6Ghz clocking 1% cpu's, what happens to the other cpu's that don't make the grade......?

This has been done a death.

I believe 'lesser' chips go into systems that aren't branded as being as powerful, or I think sold on the site as normal OEM chips.

Although someone may need to clarify the later part of what I just said.

Thank's for the response, this was the point i was trying to get to, as i would be more inclined to buy a 5960x from ocuk if that was the case, as i hate the silicon lottery.

I always figured 8 pack/Ocuk take a whole batch of CPU's and these are set aside for OCuk prebuilts.8 pack then binns them, the best ones go in the extreme/enthusiast/8 pack prebuilds, the rest just go into standard pre build systems

So in other words none of the 8Pack binned cpu's that don't quite cut it, make it to OCUK retail oem....?

Shame :(
