Hey guys,

Birthday in under 3 weeks, and decided to change my 7500 for either above.

It will be for gaming / web browsing / Spotify etc..

So would I be better, just changing the CPU and cooler with a 7700k or go down the Ryzen route?

Thanks.

Thanks for all the input guys :)

I think I will probably go down the Ryzen route..my current 1151 mobo, was a budget option :( (Gigabyte H110M-H)

So im guessing I would need a new mobo anyway to run the 7700k effectively? If so, looks like a 2600..

If you feel the need to upgrade something then aye, GPU. With freesync I'd look for offers on a Vega 56, not checked out their prices in a while but I hear they're coming down again after the worst heights of the mining boom.

Still quite expensive to improve GPU from where you are unfortunately :(

Personally I'd stick with an AMD card for the sake of freesync rather than any of Nvidia offerings but if you were tempted that way you'd be looking at a 1080 roughly.

Yeah, will have a look around..I did compare a 56 vs. 480 the now, and its 60%~ faster on average :eek:

Would like to stick to FreeSync as I do find it helps out on my FS monitor.

Thanks again for all the input guys.

@SiDeards73 im going to mimic your plans I think, will hold out (birthday a few weeks) see how the market is then, and pick up VEGA and then like @5punk3monk3y suggested make my decision whether or not to upgrade anything else..

One more thing..

I understand that the VEGA GPU's use a lot of wattage. Would a 750W EVGA GQ PSU have enough grunt? no oc, only a hd and ssd and a few case fans..

What RAM and motherboard dod you have OP?? If the RAM is fast enough, and the motherboard can handle it a Core i7 7700 or Core i7 7700K would be a much easier upgrade to do.

I have some Crucial 2133MHz RAM, and a H110M-H mobo..

Would an upgrade to the 7700K on this board be OK? Will NOT be Ocing..

I am back on the fence about what to do, but im thinking if my motherboard is OK for it , getting a 7700K??:confused::confused:
