Please correct me if wrong, but similar price to 1800X but beats it in all areas?

Considering a big ATX builds with one of these bad boys? Is it pointless from R7 1700? Will AMD have a Zen response for my chipset at some point? Or will be it be Threadripper taking on these and above for next few years?

1700 is £320

Yeah it's the 1800X comparison I am after, as that's the max chip I could put in this setup I have. Also price is similar ish for Intel.

What I'm wandering is any move pointless when I already have R7 1700, also will AMD bring more Zen chips that will take on Intel on this chipset. Not just threadripper which also needs new socket..
