Hi, a bit of a stupid question but..

I have a i7 6700k which is watercooled.
I have a 5900x coming soon.

Will the waterblock fit the 5900x? The waterblock is a open loop. Or will I need to buy a new one to fit the new mb haha? I think my current block is a phanteks

Depends on the block. many of the EK blocks are universal or aftermarket mountings can be acquired. The internal mechanisms such as they are are the same for both Intel and AMD desktop processors. Where it gets very funky is around Threadripper and the Intel server cpus which are very specific.

Not as it is if you have a Phanteks glacier 350i (only open loop block phanteks do for Intel LGA115x apart there new 360i). I also got that block and they do not include the mounting equipment in the box for AMD sadly. Would need to get mounting hardware for AMD if they are cross compatible. Not seen it for sale aftermarket so may need to contact customer service.
