Hi all...looking for a cheap gpu for a new build with a 12400f cpu. Is the b580 any good now, Can get one for £240 at the minute and really thinking about giving it a go. Any thoughts on this, has it matured nowadays

cheers

Their performance and drivers are much more consistent, yes. GN touch on it on their recent YouTube video on Intel.

If it would be optimal to pair one with a 12400F, I'm not sure, it didn't do that great versus a 4060 in HUB's driver video when running with a Ryzen 5600 (very similar CPU performance).

The B580 is a perfectly adequate card these days.

Other cards are better, but cost more.

A couple of friends have it and are generally quite happy with it. Surprisingly stable, usable and polished. Great video encoding, too. Intel have really stepped up their game from the chaos that was their first gen.

Even their first gen are still solid cards now. The drivers at release were an abomination, but for the last good while they’re a lot better.
Really been thinking about getting a cheap B580 myself, as the A770 bifrost in my current case is just not the way.

If you have a bit more cash to spare and time to wait, it's been rumored Intel are working on a higher-end model to release later this year.
