Intel Atom for Folding

What is the intel atom range and the nanos like for Folding@Home? What sort of ppd and ppw do they get?

Dunno exaclty, but the best tool for folding is a CUDA enabled video card (NVIDIA).

I think 'feeble' is possibly an over-estimate of an Atom's folding capabilities. I'd be surprised if it gets near 100PPD with the console client.

Yeah, folding requires pretty much the opposite of what the Atom is.

cheers for the replys. I got an atom system for my Bday and tbh ive no idea what to do with it!! Its not powerful enough for anything useful that my main rig cant do

Possibly consider using it in a SD media machine or a file server.

If you wanna keep and use it maybe you could knock up a nice Surfing machine for the family!

I suppose if you could fit a newer GPU that supported HD acceleration it could also be used to view BluRay . . .but I don't think an ATOM board has a PCI-E slot!
