Hi im thinking about purchasing this board or the ASUS P5B-Deluxe.

Would just like to know people that have this board what do you think of it?

What are the Pros and Cons of the Intel Bad Axe 2?

And last of all i have been reading a few reviews and notice the Ram can only be changed to 800mhz is this true?

Thanks

I have one. One of the best things about it is that it's solid. BIOS is a bit buggy imo, but it works. Haven't tried the latest one to see if these have been corrected.

Bad thing: you can't unlock the multis downwards which I was a bit disappointed about really.

Good things: looks great with a black pcb, *quite* good value for money if you look in the right place and quite a good board layout.

Ram goes much higher than 800 Mhz. Mine at the moment is currently runing at 990mhz :)

Quite an underrated board I think.

What you said Sub dosent seem to be convincing thats it worth a 170 pounds?

If i was to get it it would be purely because its stated as a 975x chipset.

I really do like the ASUS P5B-Deluxe, the way its set out and the features that it has :)

Will a 975x chipset outperform a 965p chipset when paired along with a E6600?

I mean that much that i will notice a difference?

Thanks :)

Acutally in gaming benchmarks the 965 just edges out the 975 chipset by 1 or 2fps for some odd reason.

They are however worth around £150 imo which is what they can be had for :)

OEM one can be had for ~£130.

No Vdroop, no double boot issue, ability to select strap...
For E6600 use (i.e not requiring FSB much above say 420MHz for a very healthy overclock) there is no question that the BX2 is the better board.

Stickroad, might I suggest you spend more time reading about user experiences of the boards/RAM etc and perhaps less making new threads asking what to buy.
These forums are now getting cluttered with these kinds of threads to the point where the admins might consider introducing a 'What should I buy?' sub-category.

I agree wholeheartedly and suspect that people may have fewer problems with their new systems if they took the time to do their own research and buy the hardware that matches their needs and abilities.
