Intel Bad Axe 2 plus nvidia 8800 GTX!

If I had to buy a board, cpu & graphics card right now! that would be it. :D

Great choice of board. ;) The badaxe 2 is hardly mentioned here and yet it is the most solid stable board going. It should be good for about 425 - 450 MHz on the chipset, easily enough for an E6600. :)

If you don't like your badaxe 2 you can swop it with me. :p I can't stand the cold boot problems with this Asus board. :(

I flashed my poor Bad Axe 2 this morning, now it's dead :(
Should have done it tonight, but managed to try it before I went to work.

Will have a play tonight but it's not looking good :(

oh no gutted man! sorry to hear that. Yeah I'm only going to push it to 400 fsb for now .. should be sorted. Thing is no idea how to do stepping/voltages on intel platform. Is there much more to it than AMD?

Is the badaxe worth investing over a nForce 680i?

Thinking this one. Intel Extreme D975XBX2KR BAD AXE 2 975X (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard - Retail

yes ditto i hate asus, i will be replacing my p5w64 ws
next week with the badaxe 2, if i dont see a newer revsion of
the p5w64ws

Thats Asus for you. A flurry of bios updates over a month or so and then nothing. Once they've moved on you're stuck. :(

It's a far more stable board. Just read some of these threads;

Unless you plan to go SLI, I'd say the BX2 is the board to go for. Comments out there on it speak for themslves really! I've just bought one myself (installing today) so I put my money where my mouth is!

They can be had for about £150~ so you need to decide what you want to spend.

If you shop around, the OEM version (exactly the same as the retail one except it's in a plain box and lacks some of the cables) is available for ~£130.

This is a serious board, ultra stable . had it to 390 fsb ( 3.511 ) 46 degrees idle with a freezer pro cooler . im sure i could go higher but ive not messed with it heavily yet.

cheers

i did that to my asus a8v deluxe :(. had to send it back to asus and waited 3 months till i got it back. its really annoying. if they could just add an extra non flashable but bootable bios it would help. then you could flash the main bios and if you mess up. you can boot again and flash until it works.
