INTEL BRING THE BIG GUNS!

Sssh! You can't say things like that or you may come across as jealous hater, or worse... A poor person.

Haha, well, people driving the type of car I drive do like winding up Porsche drivers ;) All that money and they still can't keep up :p

Now that guy is surely scone.... Am I wrong? If so then prove it :D

Wary of going too far OT, but what do you drive mate? Also might be picking your brains soon as I'm debating 8700k / 1700 / TR 1900... I digress.

As far as CPU choise goes, I don't think you can go wrong with any of them. They are all great for gaming and all great at content creation (or at least I expect the 8700k will be). Just that some are better at certain at some things and worse at others - but none of them are "bad" at anything.

Ignore the "Ryzen is rubbish at gaming" trolls - that's not been my experience and it's certainly improved since release anyway.

aww thats cute! :D:D

Ignore the Plebs. The sound of a straight six singing at full chat along a twisting country road at dawn can barely be beaten.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh it can, by a v twin Ducati even on tickover..............................let it get over 1500rpm and you will be blown into the wind :D

It can only really be supply or manufacturing issues, or alive of the feedback from ES samples in the wild have identified issues.

It never ceases to amaze me how many people into PCs are also keen petrolheads. Heaven. @amigafan2003 In truth, I don't (shock, horror) ever game. Unless you count HL2 once a year or so for the lulz. My PC is a basic desktop running multiple servers and VMs. I need to split the two tasks (server/desktop) into two machines at some point, but for now I'm rocking an FX8350 - which still does well - and looking for a nice upgrade path. I'm leaning 1700 bundle atm. Got a nice 960 Evo NVMe sat here waiting for a board to go into. :D I'm just holding off for CL to see what the choices are, and maybe a price drop or two when they land.

So you are bunkerd in for a long wait then ? :D

Haha I'm hoping AMD drop the prices a little in response to CL, if the leaks about 8700k matching 1700x are true. Since I may even end up buying an 8700k I may as well wait the month and see. The only thing putting me off Zen is all the bugs - cold boot issues, RAM weirdness (though I'll be buying 8pack B-die) and the hardware bug that knackered compilers in *nix due to addressing issues, which distros/BSDs have now had to patch around. I have an AM4 bracket for my AIO (though I'll probably end up getting an A240 full loop) and I'm itching to pull the trigger. I just want to see how the land lies with CL first. I'm kind of between enthusiast desktop and HEDT usage wise, so it's a hard call.
