¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Is this caused by a vcore that is too low of RAM/FSB problems?

My e5300 arrived yesterday and is running find on OCCT and orthos, yet is failing on Intel burn. :(

My e8400 passes prime at one vcore but gets about 10% of the equations wrong on intel burn, up one notch got me stable at both.

Doesn't mean it'll be the same for you mind, but slightly more vcore did it for me. Was at 445 fsb.

I've heard that intel burn test finds instability in the northbridge as much as the processor though, so sadly it could be any of them. What speed have you got it to so far? Interested in how the e5200/e5300's clock

reduce the amount of RAM that you are using on IBT this puts more stress on RAM/NB, if it passes then you have your problem, if it doesnt increase vcore.. what sort of temps are you running? the increase in CPU core temp could be enough to make it unstable.

JonJ I have had my E5200 @ 4.2ghz IBT stable, most I believe will do around 3.6ghz

Genius! Thanks man. I'm trying to build up a more systematic approach to stability testing, but not going well. Prime blend stresses northbridge more than prime small, yet failing the former can still indicate cpu instabilty and failing the latter can still indicate northbridge instability. That approach makes a lot more sense, and will be remembered.

4.2 is astonishing, well done :)

Cheers for the replys, it seems the hardest thing sometimes is knowing which part is causing the error.

Sorry for lack of info in the OP, I was posting while running IBT, and wanted to post before anything crashed! ;)

Rig:
CPU: e5300 r0 stepping
MB: Gigabyte p965 ds3
RAM: 2 x 1gb Crucial ballistix (D9GMH)

Cooling:
Thermalright tower thing on NB
Xigmatek s1283 on CPU, running fanless
Heatspreaders ripped off the RAM and ramsinks installed as D9GMH seems toasty even at 2.0v

Settings:
13 x 266fsb = 3458mhz
RAM at ddr 888 (it's on auto for now)

1.33125 vcore, 1hr OCCT passes ok:

Yet Linpack fails in under 10 mins! :(

I've now upped the vCore a little and going for a 30min Linpack run...

I'm also gonna slap a fan on the CPU cooler for Linpack runs as it gets so much hotter than it would under normal use...

I may even try 275fsb which will give me 3.6Ghz which is a nice target especially for a passively cooled rig.
