Hi all.

I've managed to run IBT with 32 threads for 50 passes on a 4Ghz OC.
Would you class this as being stable? I know people talk about prime 95 running for 6 to 24 hours, but I personally think thats overkill.

I do prefer IBT to prime, as I'm not too sure how many threads prime uses and I can set this within IBT.

Thanks

How much ram used?

You appear to be "intel burn test stable". Whether the machine is stable with regard to anything else you choose to do with it is unknown, but it is encouraging that it passed ibt.

I tend to class 50 loops at maximum ram, 8 threads (as I have a hyperthreaded quad core) as stable enough to move onto other tests. I'm paranoid though.

I'm testing it on a 4GB of ram. It will only let me test around 1.5Gigs due to I'm using a 32bit win 7 OS.

It is much easier to pass ibt with half of the ram in use than it is with almost all the ram in use. Your options are to run it for longer or to change to 64 bit. I'm not convinced that 32bit windows 7 limits you to 1.5gb of ram, but you may well be right on that one.

Id have thought that win 7 32 would address 3.25 - 3.5gig of ram, much like xp 32 and vista 32? You could also try a few hours of prime 95 blend.

Not sure on the latest versions, but back before the gui version IBT Win32 would error out instantly if set to max ram, i think it was indeed 1.5gb max for ibt on 32 bit..

I've got a quad core and I use to test it with 8 threads, but ova the past week i've started to test my cpu with 32 threads running.
