hi guys going to use intel burn test to first time im using maximum stress level all threads do i still run it 10 times or do i change it to once? thanks

also i seen some posts saying the more ram you got the longer the test takes so if you have 32gb ram it =4 tests or something like that anyone know?

I run it for a day, and would prefer to run it for several. 10 runs is usually enough to indicate whether your settings are good enough to keep trying for higher frequencies, but for the final 24/7 settings I'm in favour of pushing it hard.

I'm a dying breed on these boards though, most people tend towards "if it doesn't crash, what do I care if it can't do maths?"

10 or 20 runs here, then an 8 hour blast with p95. Ive seen the spec in sig pass many runs of ibt, only to freeze/crash in game. Also checking event viewer for id 19 whea errors, often an indication of vcore being a touch too low. 1.3100v i can pass ibt fine, to eliminate whea errors in windows i had to up the vcore to 1.3200. Temp wise, ibt tends to run 3-4c higher than p95 for me, (76c on highest core under ibt).

Agreed - ibt is not sufficient. It's thoroughly irritating to have a system which passes stress testing then crashes under normal use, but it definitely happens.

I normally use iBT first because it's quite quick to do and shows me if the system will crash easily. Then I do several hours of prime.

I usually do IBT 100 iterations with maximum threads and ram (which lasted around ~18 hours for 12gb) followed by 48 hours prime blend. Quite annoying because it takes a long time to produce a stable OC using this arrangement.

I just use IBT for testing how hot my CPU will run rather than stability. It gives you an indication of how hot it will be if ya let prime on during a really hot day or summat :)

Playing games seems to root out instabilities that 24 hours of prime testing couldnt find.
