Hi guy
It pains me to even write a thread about this cpu, however my friend wants me to upgrade his old pc.
Its only got 256 of pc2700 in it and so I am going to change this to some kingston value pc3200 for a start.
What I would like to know is, is it worth even trying to overclock this cpu, it's a 2.6 one.
Would a fresh install of windows also help?

Thanks

wow thats great.
Do they tend to run hot or cold. will the stock cooler be ok?
Im an amd man and so no nothing about these cpu's
Do you overclock them the same?

Burn the Celeron ! *Chants* Burn it Burn it Burn it *End Chant*

Seriously, you could try clocking it up for some free speed, but a new installation of windows usually makes the machine 'feel like new', if the PC is full of legacy programs and spyware - lots of startup programs that slow it down is the main culprit.

I wouldn't even bother with the memory speed upgrade really. The extra speed wouldn't be used.

It wasnt used for a gaming machine but windows felt a bit nippier so was super pi. They do run quite hot, mine was on a arctic freezer 4 but the stock cooler should be ok for a bit.

the problem is i cant find where in the bios to change the FSB
could it be that the pc was bought from a major retailer

all I can say is that
thank god this is not my pc.
Although more memory made a fair bit of difference
