Wasn't sure whether to put this in Motherboards or not but as it's more software related and concerns Vista I thought I'd post here.

Basically, with XP installs one of the first things I've always done is install the Intel chipset drivers but I'm not whether this is advisable or not with Vista.

I'm running Vista x64 SP1 and everything seems to work fine. I'd have thought that Vista SP1 would have more up-to-date drivers for the motherboard components than would the Intel drivers, which are dated Sep 2007. Should I just leave well enough alone or install the Intel ones?

You can get the latest Intel Chipset Installation Software Here

It seems that if you are running Vista 64 bit on a single HDD (IDE mode) it is not necessary to install it, but it doesn't hurt to do so, however, if running RAIDx on the ICHxR controller it is necessary, usually best to do it as soon as desktop appears after install.
