That's a load of crap, there's rarely a delay when it goes the other way.You also forget stock was bought at a weaker pound , so they aren't going to change prices until that stock is cleared

Same old same old. UK gets ripped off by US companies & shops price gouge. Has Apple dropped their prices since the £ has recovered from like 1.2$ to 1.4$? Or Dell? I might be wrong but they probably haven't despite the £ recovering significantly in the last 12 months. Hell they cant even pay their taxes. Pricing of modern computer equipment sucks.
Thankfully i don't game as much as i use to, getting old ha! & im content to buy competitive price/performance & ignore the tease of the latest/greatest which is clearly abusing customers right now. Slight improvements for maximum prices. I miss the days of 8800GTX for £440 that blew last tech out the water. Or Dual card 4870x2 for like £360 on Day One! PC enthusiasts getting milked dry.
I bet if the £ goes to 1.5$ the prices still wont come down. People need to vote with their wallet & just say "no". But unfortunately too many sheep will follow the herd & just take it right up the ***.
Sorry, first post in probably a year but felt like getting it off my chest![]()

just purchased one retail boxed for £316 delivered with customs paid
I didn't really want to upgrade tbh but brother wants to buy my 6700k
Okay well hope this is relevant but at the price point of £250 to £265 what would you pick?
8600k costs around about £250 or a 1800x for £265 or prehaps people would go with the ryzen 1700 and overclock and the 1700 costs £247.
For me its a no-brainer, the 1800X, the higher overclocking potential is worth the £20 the 1700, why over the 8600K? i have a GTX 1070, not a 1080TI, i'm not going to get that 15% or so extra gaming performance with the 8600K vs the 1800X because the 1080TI is more than 15% faster than my 1070, the 8600K isn't going to be any faster than the 1800X because the 1800X is already more than fast enough to power the 1070 to full potential with plenty of room to spare, by the time GPU's in my price range are fast enough to beat what the 1800X can cope with 100% it will be time to upgrade the CPU anyway.
To add to that i do a lot of 3D stuff, the 1800X crushes the 8600K there.
8700K will be back to £300 at the end of next month. So I will get one then.
