Intel seems to ship the new 45nm CPU's with the Low profile cooler has anyone back/back tested with the older deeper coolers regarding Temps and noise ?

Thanks

If you're talking about the same low-profile cooler you get with an E2xx0 then the difference in temps is likely significant, and the noise roughly equivalent. Does the low-profile cooler in question have any copper parts, or all aluminium? I'm not sure how many variants Intel have put out, but I've got a selection (though none that came with a 45nm).

Well Well, Seems there are multiple styles and multiple fans
Obviously the copper core type should be best and then You would think the deeper cooler slightly better, but then the fans and blade profile vary also !

The new Quad 9450 came with a very small/light copper cored cooler
I have a deep copper cored cooler from 1 of the new 45nm dual cores (why is this better than the quad)

But I think I will try the Old E6600 cooler, copper and deep (and was always quiet) as My Q6600 (looked similar but gets noisey)

I suppose the reason there is nothing around the net is generally people fit aftermarket coolers
