Hello all.

Just a quick 'better to be safe then sorry' question for you all. Is the retail fan that comes with the following processor 'Intel Core 2 DUO E6300 "LGA775 Allendale" 1.86GHz (1066FSB) - Retail' actually any good? Will it do the job without a problem when the processor is not overclocked? As I don't plan to OC I just want a good enough fan to keep the processor cool when under stress on factory clock speeds (i.e. when playing a game for many hours).

Has anyone got this processor with retail fan that plays games for hours? If so, what temps do you normally see after your gaming session when running the retail heatsync?

Thanks in advance,

best regards,

Breaks.

I did think that but then I thought, maybe it does the job for the first few weeks but it could be cheap quality and pack up after a month or two at most? :p I just don't want a retail fan just to have it pack up on me after a few weeks/months :\

Any idea what the danger temp is for an E6300? Meaning, what temp is it that the CPU has to hit in order for it to get damaged? Or what is the highest temp people have got this CPU up to and it has been fine since?
