Intel Core 2 E4600 2.4GHz or AMD

If you had the choice of a Intel Core 2 Duo E4600 Socket 775 2.4GHz chip or a AMD chip of the same sort of price, say a 5000+ black edition or a 5600+ 2.8gz which would you go for, whats the better all round choice if you were to overclock, or if you were to keep them at default speeds ?
 
Yep, Core 2 Duo for the win (and I had AMD since the Thunderbird days, before my current rig, so no Intel fanboyism here).

Simply the best bang for buck at the moment. AMD have got a lot to catch up with and I hope they do. I remember the bad old days when Intel had no serious competition. £600 for a 486DX2-66Mhz anyone. :eek: (And yeh, I bought one at that price...:( )
