intel core 2 e6600 batches

It has good and bad points.

Its a week 52 (later weeks dont seem to clock too well)

Its a 'B' these do clock well.

Not much help so you're just gonna have to suck it and see :D
 
Mine has the same Product code, and is FPO L644G264. I bought it (from OcUK) last week and at 1.41V it seems pretty stable at 3.15GHz. I thought it was rock solid, but after 14hours of Orthos the other day it fell over. As the PC is my flight sim & gaming box though I'm not too worried, and in normal use it's never going to be thrashing away at full power for long periods.

On my Gigabyte DS3 + 2Gb of the Crucial 5300 I've failed to find a way of getting any more out of my CPU without immediate problems. Pushing the voltage up to 1.45 didn't help it stabilise even at 3.2GHz, and I'm not going any higher until after the July price drops. Then I might be able to afford/justify a replacement if I kill it.

The good news though is that 3.1GHz is pretty darned quick, and this is a significant step up from the x2 3800 @2.4GHz it replaces. So I'm not exactly disappointed.

overclocked it

right just been overclocking it got it to 3.2 with 1.35v cannit take it and lower because their is no lower voltage options on my mobo it will not go any higher with out stupid volts i tested it at 3.2 for 13 hours and its fine
 
They'll likely go a bit higher but more volts needed. Maybe Intel is shifting their focus to higher models and being really choosy about what silicon is going into the E6600s etc.. so the abundance is'nt there to speedbin higher spec silicon into their lower models anymore, thus the average oc not doing so well in later models, or maybe they're doing some tweaks and it just is'nt mature yet to produce great clockers just yet, all speculation of course.
