Hey guys,

Just got a new Intel Core 2 Quad Q9400 and straightaway overclocked it.

Currently got it overclocked from the original 2.66GHz to 3.4GHz on an air cooler .... temps for idle are around 38-43 degrees and full load using Orthos is a maximum of 63 degrees.

These temps/overclocks ok for the cpu?

Cheers.

Load temps seem fine mate. Make sure you have set the tdp in your temp program (realtemp ext) to 95 tdp, rather than the preset 100.

I changed the fan on the CPU heatsink (Akasa Nero) to a Akasa Black Apache, re-did the heatsink TIM cause the first time wasn't spread out good enough.

Current speed is 3.4Ghz (425Mhz x 8) and current temps on Orthos are 50-55 degrees on load ... pretty happy with that :)

I think I should be able to push it harder considering I've got some Patriot Viper DDR2 PC-8500 memory and the Q9400 is still on stock voltages.
