I'm folding with an OCUK made Intel Core i5 2500K I'm actually folding with the GPU a 580 GTS and get around 17500 PPD.

Can someone folding with an Intel Core i5 2500K CPU please let me know what they get from the CPU only please? & also what client do you use?

PS I know I don't compete F@H for the OCUK team however, we all fold for the same reason. BTW I created my own team 51078 about 4 to 5 years back. :)

Aprox 14k ppd on SMP @ 4.6Ghz

Thanks very much Biffa :) Unfortunately thats less than I'm currently getting with the GTS580 how sad is than :)

I used to do SMPS on my now time expired Q6600 years ago If I recall right (& I got to the age when I don't) I used to fold SMPs one on each of the four core's, are they still the same now, & would a 650 watt PSU be up to both GPU & CPU folding @ 100% ?

Thanks for any info which will be very much appreciated :)

Oops almost forgot I'm pretty sure my CPU is running at less than 4.6Ghz in fact as far as I know it's running at stock

No, now there is a SMP client that loads all 4 cores with the one app. Yes the PSU will be up to it. You may lose a little ppd on one or the other clients, but overall it will be higher.

As for not overclocking the less said the better I think before Spanky gets dragged out of retirement

Thanks very much again Biffa :)

I'm going to have to do a search now to find out a little more about Spanky :D

When I had the PC from OCUK I was asked if I would like the OC option in fact I was talked into it, although I also selected the no OS option & didn't feel too concerned about loading the Gigabyte Easy Tune Gizmo therefore unless OCUK applied the OCing to the BIOS, I can pretty well guarantee stock speed

Cheers again

hondo :)

in my experience 14k PPD is the lowest you get on the worst WUs, at the moment i am getting 45K PPD on a 7020 at 4.8GHz. it averages out at about 35-40K PPD on a good day

 Struth!! 45k PPD, now that more like it. :D

I've just loaded Gigabyte Easy Tune 6 which tells me I was running @ 3.3Ghz I've since taken that up to 3.6Ghz however 4.1Ghz is the maximum available option in there. Just one question to get up to 45k PPD do you need to be on water, that would be a problem for me, I'm running on air :weep:

Oops another question, if I need to post a Pic in here is there a forum internal method or is the likes of Photo-Bucket the alternative option.

I've got to go for a while her who must be obeyed some how talked me into a spot of painting upstairs

yes it is water, you should be able to get reasonably close to that with a decent air cooler and good airflow though.

I have a 2400 as well and that gets 25K PPD and is at 3.5GHz (slight bump on the BLCK)

Bear in mind that it is more Wu dependant than anything, if you could guarantee you would get "magic" WUs all day then you would truly get the 45k quoted, however with SMP wus you are far more likely to get somewhere in between the max and min ppd on an average day :)

Thanks very much everyone, your help & assistance is very much appreciated, using Gigabyte Easy Tuner I'm now running at 3.6GHz. :D not much I know but every little bit should help. :)

Unfortunately I'm still not out of the woods yet, its been so long since I Folded with the CPU I seem to have forgotten how to do it :o

I downloaded SMP2 client console version & set the flag to -smp but can't for the life of me get the CPU load to go past 25% albeit I set it at 100% in the config Grrrrrrrrr it was either too early this morning (05:00am) or its an age thing :D

Hello Guys, I'm so sorry to trouble you all again, I've got the CPU up to 3.8GHz but can't anywhere near the PPD that some of you guys spoke of yesterday, the most I'm getting from the CPU is around 11k odd PPD, can someone please point out what I'm doing wrong?

Mods I've post an Img file below on Photobucket, I have made the Img smaller than it was originally although I'm not sure if its small enough, please feel free to modify or remove it if necessary

Id have to check my db to see if I have any numbers for that particular project, but you will lose some performance when running two clients.

Thanks very much Biffa I'll leave it with you

Amazingly the GPU PPD remains the same @17k odd PPD.

Or does the fact I now have 2 clients running only affect the CPU PPD?

Thanks for sharing lopkinfop, where is it you get that TPF from?

I've maxed out now on the Gigabyte Easy tuner @ 4.1GHz the PPD is now showing 12,000 ish on the CPU, I just don't see where I can pull anymore PPD from :(

:Edit:
Just dawned on me, I'm still using XP 32bit although I do have Win7 64-bit would that make a difference?

TBH I'd prefer to continue using XP as I'm not too keen on Win7 but having said that, if thats where the difference could be, I'd be more than willing to give Win7 yet another try. :) Oh no, please don't. :)

Win7 won't make any difference, the Folding code is still 32bit.

Sorry can't help on the performance of that WU I dont have a record of having done any on my rigs, I just updated the SMP machines to 6.34 client so maybe will get one soon but they are no where near as nice as a 2500K but are quad core and should give something to compare. lopkinfop should have more data on ones he has done.

As for stats, people tend to use HFM.NET rather than FAHMon as you get more data from it.
