Intel Core i5 4670K Cooler

Hi There

I am building my first machine for a few years - lots have changed....

I have the kit, but I have changed my mind and decided I want a cooler now to save changing the stock cooler later.

I have Intel Core i5 4670K Haswell 1150 cpu and wanted advise on a cooler, around £50 to £60?

also, what paste would you recommend?

not planning on over clocking yet, but its something I would like to look at.

Although theres the Noctua D14 and K2 doom.
AIO wise, most people seem to go for the corsairs.

These are very nice, a little over budget but you get Corsair link software to control fan speed and customisable RGB lit logo.

If you could stretch your budget that little further then I'd recommend this as your case will accommodate a 240mm Rad.

Note: AIO coolers are my preference but there are very good air coolers too, depends on your preference.

Edit: Sorry, just checked your case again and if it's this one then it looks like it wont support the H100. H80i would be absolutely fine though.

Well you've really got the wrong case for an air cooler, most decent air coolers come in around the 160mm mark..

Your case only supports:

CPU cooler height: 148.5mm / 5.8 inch

You would have to check case dimensions but I have very similar spec to you and my Noctua is brilliant. Not oc'd yet but it idles around 20°C at stock.

And that will do an excellent job make sure it will fit your case.

A Phanteks PH TC14CS should fit in there just fine, and it cools very well at 145mm tall. It's got bent heat pipes so it's lower than a standard tower air cooler.
