Intel Core i5 750 vs i3 530 for gaming

if you are strictly gaming, the i3 has a better bang for buck value because most games today are limited by the graphics card (though game developers are getting better at multi-threading their games). the i3 will overclock better too. however on the opposite end of the spectrum, if you are doing any encoding or other thread heavy tasks, the i5 750 will smoke the i3 every time.

if i were looking for a system that is mostly geared for gaming, i would go with the i3 and put that extra £150+ towards my graphics card budget and a better heatsink for the cpu.
