Intel Core i7 2600K replacement

I have had a Intel Core i7 2600K fail on me , no idea why but I suspect overheating , so need a replacement , I purchased it in 2011 as OcUK Motherboard Bundle - Intel Core i7 2600K & Asus P8P67 Pro Intel P67 Mainboard **B3 Revision*
so now need a recommendation as to what I should get as a replacement that will suit the board ?

2600k or 2700k also non k versions you could go for a 3570k or 3770k ivybridge cpu but you may need a bios update to accomadete the latter.

2600K's can be picked up very cheaply from the members market (bought one myself a couple of days ago for £80. You're a few posts away from getting there but they are available without costing mega money.

Indeed, it was a little pointless mentioning the MM.
As stated you can get a, 2600k, 2700k or 3770k; though the latter will probably need the latest bios. The Bay and Gumtree are probably your best options of picking up one. (2600k sell on the MM for ~£85)

You should make it to that magic 1000 post count in another 996 years time..
