I've been really keen to see exactly how the new coffee lake mobile i7 stacks up and it looks okay...

Specs have been leaked, ultimately it's an extra two cores with a 500mhz decrease across all cores (turbo) versus the 7700HQ.

An improvement for video editing etc but not so for gaming, what say you OcUK?

This and the unlocked version 8720HK(?) will end up in the high end gaming notebooks. It's not an upgrade when gaming.

Disappointing.

Interesting to see 4 less PCI-E lanes. Does this mean M.2 NVMe cards won't be a feature anymore? Or Thunderbolt 3 will be gone? I don't know how the PCI-E lanes are used in laptops.
