Would you find a better performance with an i7 920, clocking from 3.8 to 4.0 In the real world via gaming ?

I ran my games on stock and then 3.8 then 4.0 didnt notice a large increase 1-2fps in most fps where it did make a difference was RTS lots of units etc seemed to cope a little better. If your not sure your chip can handle 4.0 easily 3.8 will be fine.

Well it's a CO chip. and @ 3.8 i get great temps with 1.208v
But to get to 4.0, i have to go near 1.4v. higher temps. but from what i see with the DO chip, you can run 1.2v at 4.0 with exellent temps.
so was thinking of getting the DO. but if it dont make to much diff on games, then it's not worth the money loss. i wait and see what the new i7 930 has to offer when it comes out
