Intel Core i7 "Haswell-E" to Launch in Q3 2014 an eight-core part around the $600 mark

Finally Intel six core cpu at affordable price of $400 or around £250!! (Hypothetically assuming exchange rate doesn't vary much next year :p)

But seriously if we are are getting Haswell E 6 cores around £250-£270, what would be the implications regarding say quad core Broadwell or Skylake, price wise, i.e. would the prices be lowered for mainstream quad core Broadwell & Skylake? (I know I am jumping the bandwagon, but interesting times ahead indeed )

I'm with you on this, if the lowest Haswell -E is a 6 core and around £300, I'm going to go with that and 16GB / 32GB DDR4. I'll move up to an 8 core the following year when they shrink the next iteration of X99 chips down to 14nm.

this release is so slow and expensive. why is intel doing this even gaming console tech is further ahead. pathetic
