Hi
I recently purchased the following overclocked bundle :-
1 X Intel Core i7 920 D0 Stepping (SLBEJ) 2.66Ghz overclocked up to 4.00GHz! (Choose overclocking option above.)
1 X Gigabyte EX58-UD5 Intel X58 (Socket 1366) PCI-Express DDR3 Motherboard
1 x Corsair XMS3 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 (1600MHz) Tri-Channel
1 X Noctua NH-U12P SE1366 CPU Cooler (Socket LGA1366)
I payed for the 3.8ghz overclock and I think the memory was substituted as the normal patriot memory was out of stock.
I have a small issue it seems though, When I load the OCUK overclock and do a cold boot, the overclock fails and then it boots with default values, if I restart and reload the overclock it boots up ok and it seems to run fine with no bsod using prime 95 for a couple of hours.
So you see I am at a bit of a loss at what is causing the overclock to fail at boot level. The pc seems to start after I press the power button and the fans spin up, then they stop, then start again, then stops then it boots.
any ideas of what I should be testing to find the issue? I am a bit of a noob when it comes to overclocking, thats why I ordered the bundle.
John
p.s. the gear in the sig needs updating was my previous machine, still using the psu and sound card though.
