Hope this is the right place.
I'm looking for some advice about a new CPU, I want to get the Intel Core i7-4790K with this watercooler to control the temperature but I'm wondering if it'll be compatible with my asus P7P55M motherboard and also I only have a 550 power supply, will the faster CPU (I'm pretty sure it's only an i5 at the moment) stretch it too far?
Thanks in advance guys.

Im afraid the 4790k wont work with your current board. The 4790k is a 1150 socket series board whereas yours is an older generation 1156 socket board.

As setter says above, you'd need a new motherboard. Your 550W PSU should be fine as long as it's from a reputable vendor and you're not planning to run multiple GPUs and/or massive overclocks.

Thanks guys, I was kind of expecting it. I'll get it with one of the motherboard bundles then I think.
