I have just put in my i9 14900K and booted up a game as I have a Thermal Right 240MM Cooler which was originally for my i5 14400K, i am looking to buy a 360mm cooler at some point however i did check my temperatures through core temp and trying Hogwarts Legacy maxed out i am getting temps between 60c to 70c however my cooling fans do seems to throttle and get louder then get quieter again, that normal with higher CPU's as i know the i9 14900kf has had temperature problems as they get hotter and is a new AIO cooler needed as to be fair the temps don't go above 80c or 90c when gaming

The difference in average power usage between a 14400 and 14900K is very large, so I would expect significantly different behaviour from your cooler, yes.
ah okay will look at getting a new cooler in that case, will it be okay for me to use for now until i get a new cooler ?

Those temperatures are not a concern, but if you haven't seen the news about the Intel 13th-14th gen CPUs and the microcode updates I would strongly recommend that you read them and make the necessary updates and adjustments to your BIOS, to hopefully protect your CPU in the longer-term (this is with the cooler you're using, or a new one).
Ah yeah just seen the update on gigabyte for it I'll give that a download and get it updated thank you

Yeah will try messing with the fan curves see if that helps as the cpu testing I have been doing seems great on games highest I have seen it go is around 70c while gaming so the little cooler seems to be doing the job
