My CPU fan has broken nylon feet ( the ones that press through holes in the MB )

Its the Intel E30307-001 12v DC 0.14a with connected legs that remove with fan

There's not that many for sale in the UK, and wondered if this alternative is ok ? Its Overclockers AKASA

PS does the alternative have to be 30307-001 identical ? I've seen other Intel 775 fans but they're not called 30307-001

PS i think i may have answered that last question

Saw an Intel E33681-001 Socket 775 but its 0.6a , not 0.14a

Intel Core 2 Quad Q9400

The cooler hasnt given any problems ever, its only the fan that needs replacing.

Not sure why i'd need to fork out extra for the cooler as well.

ON the subject i asked about, do you think the Akasa will fit and do the job ?

Wow - that looks pretty damn good

Double the price, but the fixing looks nothing like the OEM Intel - it even looks like the fan fires sideways too, unlike the Intel

+1 to this. Then you'll be upgrading, instead of just replacing a broken part. Probably same sort of price, too. :)

Akasa is £8.99 the Artic cooler / fan is £17.99 so not the same price, but still good value i suppose.

Its just that the fitment has got me foxed. IF it hadnt been recommended, i would not have looked at this twice , due to the weird looking mounting compared to the Intel

Thanks for the reassurance !

Yes, i agree on the mounting of OEM Intel - its horrible, and the reason the nylon tips on the legs are broke is because i took it off to clean the dust out, and they broke with really gentle removal. Really flimsy and whoever designed this needs a slap

I think i'll go for that Arctic combo. Thanks Orc ( and Scott for 2nd opinion )
