intel cpu for quick sync in unraid server

Hi always been an amd user for many years since the Q6600 days, but now looking for a low power intel cpu that i can use quick sync for plex transcoding in unraid, can i ask for some recommendations as to what to look at then i can go down the MB shopping route after that. so any help ?

I’d look at 6th Gen Intel as a minimum, but ideally 8th gen onwards. But you don’t need anything super powerful. A lowly G4900 can do over 20 1080p streams will with quicksync and is a nice low power cpu.

I’d probably look for a used Xeon E-3 or one of the Pentium chips with ECC support.
