Has anyone here RMA an intel CPU before ???

As i had to RMA my faulty i7 2600k cpu and am wondering if i should buy an i5 2500k cpu to use while waiting for the faulty i7 replacement to arrive..

what happened?
Was working fine for just over a month..

Then This happened

I was doing nothing apart from browsing the internet (mainly on here :D)...

The night before i was browsing the internet with no problems. Then i shut down my PC to go to bed...
Then the next day i come home from work pressed the power buttom on PC and it just kept on looping
(It would power up for a few seconds and then shut down and then power up again and then shut down......over & over & over )
I thought it was my motherboard at first.so i RMA my motherboard to ocuk and it tested fine..
So i then RMA my i7 CPU to ocuk and they found it was faulty and has now been returned to there supplier.

That is a trauma:-( , mine did the same(a p8p67 pro) but when I shut it down it turned off about 1 second after clicking shutdown and I knew something wasn't right.

Booted up in the morning and nothing, hit power and slight pulse from fans but not switching on. Confirmed it wasn't psu with a swap out and the board was dead. I am thing there p8p67 issues relate to asus's implementation of power on the board, but who knows.

Now the other half is still enjoying her up to date machine and i'm ruffing it with an Athlon 64 4000+ lol, good enough for general stuff but a 4.9ghz 2600k it is not;)

Sorry to bump this but as I'm now in the same boat I'd like to know how long it took before you got a replacement CPU?

Been told as I have had my processor longer than 28 days I have to rma it with intel is this right it's a retail chip I thought first year overclockers would handle rma

did Overclockers tell u to RMA it with Intel ? not being funny but i had a E7300 b4 my current setup from another company and after 4 months it died (not my fault just gave up) and they replaced it straight away as i only had it 4 months, (this was 4 years ago and maybe intel have changed the rules) but i would have expected Overclockers to handle this for you ?

Having this exact same problem as we speak! (Asus P8Z68, i5-2500K) going to see if I can send my motherboard and CPU to OCuk for testing.
