Hi all, I have searched the forum up and down for Badaxe, Bad axe and D975XBX and D975XBX2. I cant seem to find a lot of information on this board. I read Gibbo's comments saying it was a decent solid board. If so why dont many people have this board? Is it the name? :S Or is this a good sign not many posts meaning less people have problems with it.

Im also intrested to know if the BX2 has this "ICS clockgen" that people said was a must for BX1 overclockers. Any1 else got any views on this board? as im leaning towards badaxe2 now :D

(gonna get a 6600)

Thanks for your time

Noto

[edit] I read on >here< That the BX2 has a new clockgen SLG instead of the ICS one which was best for BX1. Is this any good?

hi

its a rock solid board , had it up to 365 fsb so far with a 6600 but im not sure what im doing . im running the 2333 bios but there is another update out .

you can disable secondary sata controller to speed up boot times but the hd light stays on all the time but thats not too much of a problem .

cheers

From what I've read, the latest BIOS update fixes the HD light problem. Getting my BX2 tmrw, and I'm looking forward to building my new rig with it. Super board by all accounts. :)

yeah i read that too.

I to have my eye on this board and will be running an 8800 GTS good idea bad idea?

cant seeing it as a bad idea. Seeing as you wont be buying 2x 8800 for SLI. I read the best reason last night. 1 x 8800 was better than 2x 7900 in SLI. so in theory the 9900 should be better than 2x 8800. i cant see a problem with it.

I am really leaning to this board and i may push the purchase buttong tonight. Just need to finalise the ram and PSU.

tom84 i have a gts running , not realy tried much o/clocking yet but will do soon . i cant understand why it isnt more prominent on this forum , unless peeps arnt getting many probs with it . in that case they should shout out loud how good this board is .

cheers

Dunno about the BX2, but I've got 2 of the older BadAxe's and they are both great boards. No stability issues at all, and probably the easiest build's I've done in a long time. Everything just 'works' without any hassle. I really like these intel boards.

Cheers for the info mate

And well would luck have it i built 2 machines today using this board, sexy piece of kit aint it :p

Hi, does anyone know if you can power these boards on by keyboard, as I'm lazy like that :p & the original Badaxe couldn't do this.

Also, can you turn off the Intel logo on post? as I like to see the proper post screen and couldn't do this on my original Badaxe.

Cheers :)

I've just a general question about this board. Why would someone get this instead of a competing board from Gigabyte, ASUS, etc? What does it offer to its owner that sets it apart from the rest? Is it price? Some feature? Usability? I'm just wondering.

it seems the asus' 975x boards are pretty on par with this board and i think in general more people buy the asus flavours. Because i have found it very hard to find many people talking about the badaxe 2. Maybe its because its Intel's real first venture into the overclocking enthusiasts board but by all accounts this is one cracking board. And Badaxe just sounds meaner than the asus flavours :p

The quality of the badaxe 2 beats any asus board on the market infact its the best motherboard I've owned to date I have owned many of the following

asus
dfi
msi
gigabyte

I like my Asus P5W64, apart from the cold boot issue. Its been fixed on the cheaper boards & yet not on the top of the range model. :(

I couldn't reccomend this board to any overclocker because of this. If you have six expensive hard drives, the last thing you want is for the board to just pull the power on them everytime you reset or save bios settings.

For this reason alone I'm looking for a new board. I've given up on Asus fixing this now. The badaxe boards are the best quality boards in my opinion, I'm looking into the BX2 now. :)

i think Gibbo should order a few more only 9 left in stock....

I will race you 2 to the check out when 5pm hits! may the fastest finger win

If you read up on other forums about this board it's difficult to find a bad word about it. Many Asus users have switched over to the BX2 in fact. It's a cracker of a board, it really is. Rock solid stable and a great overclocker. Still waiting on mine to be delivered!!

Im afraid thats a no, even after a Bios update theres still no option to turn off the splash screen

hey mate same problem as me why asus sucks
theirs no point in giving overclocking options in the bios
if it constanly restarts and killls hard discs

cany anybody tell me if the badaxe2 does double restarts @ 400fsb?

iam also looking to replace p5w64 ws with badaxe 2
because i think asus quality is a shambles, iam now anti asus iam fed
up buying their ****** vdroop boards and their cheap plastics
used on their boards.
