Intel DP35DP compatible with Server 2003?

Hi there guys, having a small problem when trying to install Windows Server 2003 on the above motherboard.
Once it has restarted for the first time, and it loads the installation GUI, at various points it will blue screen with IRQL not equal or less error.

Have installed Vista Ultimate on the same system and it installs fine so dont think it is any particular fault with a piece of hardware.

The CPU is an E6850 and have tried both IDE and SATA hard drives.

If it is a motherboard issue, then which board would be suitable for this CPU?

Any help would be much appreciated.

It is a bit strange, am currently running a Pentium D on a 965 chipset and that runs fine with 2003 but because of the 1333FSB cpu, needed to change mobo as the current one didnt support it.
May give the gigabyte one a go, was gonna use that as a home board anyway, but may wait for an x38.

Cheers VoG, those problems are pretty much identical to the ones i am experiencing.
What i find strange is that very few things support or have drivers for Server 2003. The current server we have is on a 965 chipset which isn't down on the supported list but works fine. Had to use XP drivers for the RAID and GFX though.

When installing the RAID drivers during the initial windows setup phase (where u push f6) it appears there are no 2003 drivers, so had to use the XP ones (from an external floppy).

Is the first time really that i have had these sorts of problems, as whenever i have had a blue screen, it has always happened and was more often than not a RAM issue.

Think we are returning the motherboard and have a look at what mobo to replace it with - would the Gigabyte board give the same problems do u think?

That's really weird, oh well, i may have a look tomorrow then and see where we go. The main reason for the change from one intel board to the other is because we need to restore a previous backup to the new system as the current system has a dodgy active directory.

It just needs to be able to support the 1333FSB, but so far the only boards that we have been looking at non P35 or G33 only go up to 1066.
I did see that some of the 965 boards can run with 1333FSB with a BIOS update but this isnt stated on the websites that sell them afaik.

/Edit also, we need to be able to restore a previous backup on to the machine with the new motherboard without getting HAL errors etc

/Edit2 have just had a look around, and remembered that the rev3 of my own motherboard (DS3) has the support for 1333fsb, but is a bit pricey due to it being oldish tech. hmmmm, what to do

Just a quick update on the situation (sorry again for the double post).

Have just picked up a DS3 rev.3 and currently installing Serv2003 on it, fortunately it hasnt crapped out where it normally does (about 35 mins left in the GUI).

Also the temperature of the CPU is only 30 degrees in the BIOS with MX1 compound and Freezer 7 pro HSF.
Hopefully this will solve the issues and we can restore the old server backup on to the new machine with little difficulty.

Restored the Active Directory backup from the old server, seemed to go along without any problems, no errors etc.
Will be restoring the data to it over this week, so hopefully by the weekend we will have a nice new server with a non corrupt Active Directory and a fast CPU (as opposed to the old P4 3.0GHz that was in the old server.
