Hi,

Bought an LG 29UM67 monitor (2560x1080) today and chuffed with it. I thought my PSU would work with the R9 380 i bought too but tiurns out its not so have had to run it with the onboard Intel HD graphics until tomorrow so i can go and buy a new PSU.

Something strange happening with the Intel drivers. When i turn the monitor on, the colours all look amazing. Then literally 2 secons later the whole display gamma/colours drop to darker and more saturated. This doesnt happen if i disable the intel drivers and use microsoft display driver.

Please see video..

Any ideas?

Maybe have a good look through the Intel graphics control panel and turn off anything that might be automatically tweaking colours/contrast/etc if you haven't done so already. It's been a while since I used my iGPU, but I seem to remember it having some things turned on by default. Also worth checking what it's using out of Full/Limited range RGB. Generally you want the former for a monitor and the latter for a TV.

That's the windows default colour settings kicking in and overriding any custom colour/saturation/brightness settings that are set in the GPU control panel.

Nvidia drivers have the same bug, if I set different levels in the NV control panel they will kick in at boot on the desktop for a second or so but will then get overridden by the default levels included in the Windows OS built in desktop driver settings.

Its damn annoying, something to do with the OS not allowing default values to permanently changed.

Make sure you aren't using limited range RGB or something like that - though usually that is enabled from the start and doesn't apply after a few seconds.

What Intel HD Graphics are they? For example on my Surface Pro 3 I have Intel HD Graphics 4400. With a 1440p monitor it does from time to time struggle at 1440p resolution, watching HD videos can cause it to stutter! I wonder if it's just the Intel HD Graphics struggling with your screen?

Try the BETA drivers too, I had a bit more success with those on my Surface Pro 3 as the latest official causes the display driver to crash :|
