can one of you hotshots clarify something for me?
on the OC site it says that the intel dual core processors are only compatable with 955X (and above i imagine) chipset boards
but on the asus site boards with 865 chipsets etc are stated as supporting dual core intel processors?
not being a nitpicking knob, but i build quite a lot of low end systems and if i can put in a 805d then why bother with a celeron??
ps dont bore me with bus speeds info

well there are a few chipsets

945, 955, 975, 865, uli stuff, ati r200 chipsets
im pretty sure 865's support ddr and agp standards only.

dont forget the 865 chipset (springdale?) were for socket 478
while the lga775 865 are different for the newer 775 processors.

the Celeron D proccessors tend to be around half the price of the 805
really depends on the budget for the customer?
