Intel is really enjoying the good performance of its Conroe 65nm based CPUs and it plans to launch a new Dual core E2220 CPU at 2.4GHZ.

It is a 200MHz faster version of currently available Dual Core E2200 version clocked at 2.2GHZ and the new E2220 works at 2.4GHZ, has FSB 800, 1MB cache and two cores.

All E2xx0 series are crippled to 1MB cache while E4xxx series have 2MB cache. Both CPUs have TDP 65 but traditionally with this CPUs Intel is way below that number.

The new CPU is expected after middle of February but probably toward the end of the month.

Source is fudzilla but at least it's something... Might be nice cpu! :)

My guess is it will be exactly the same as the others, but with a x12 multi on it. Intel perhaps going a little too far now do we think?

maybe so but for ppl with 666MHz RAM upgrading from P4 this can mean 4Ghz at 333 FSB with good cooling and chip being able to clock that. ;)

Tho it's prolly bit late coming out with another E2xx0.

Ye but should be well good for overclocking newbies I guess and ****** motherboards? 2.4Ghz is pretty decent...

will be good to see when the 45nm version of the E2xxxs i bet they are gona overclock like mad!
