Intel E660 2.4Ghz or Intel Core 2 Duo E2160 1.80GHz?

I've been offered an Intel E6600 2.4ghz 775 socket processor for £50. Better or worse than the Intel Core 2 Duo E2160 "LGA775" 1.80GHz?

For the money, I'd say go for it, but I reckon the e2160 is a better clocker

I think its easy to get 3.5ghz with the E6600 and it has more L2

i'd say go for the E6600... it's a good clocker and hits 3ghz consistently. not to mention it has a higher cache...

plus with good cooling and a little know how you can get the e6600 up to 3.6ghz easily with a good cooling setup and help from some technical friends, with good mobo and cpu water cooling you could get it past 4ghz like one of my friends did , i had mine at 3.60GHZ before i got this quad, see this pic i took a few months ago, sorry its hard to make out, ---->

For that price you'd be a fool not to.

Somone did a comparison of the e2160 Vs a e6600. Think his name was Melbourne something. See if you can find his review.
