Looking to build a new rig and have identified the E8500 as the new CPU to power this build.

Was just wondering should I buy the Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound or would the compound provided by Intel be sufficient enough?

Thanks in advance!

Intel compound will be fine, but handy getting a tube just in case you need to remove or change the cooler in the future :)

Thanks for the quick reply! :)

I was planning on OC'ing and will be getting the Arctic Cooling Freezer Pro 7 with the Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound. Will this be adequate enough?

If that's the case don't worry, the freezer has thermal compound pre-applied which is slighlty better than the AS5 :).
